Insider Threat Analysts conduct threat analysis, provide assessments of threats and vulnerabilities, produce investigative leads, uncover policy violations, assess risk posed by trusted insiders, oversee the data collection effort on NGA’s networks using UAM tools, and manage & develop approved data analytics tools like Risk 360.  These analysts also prepare and conduct tailored briefings and debriefings and conduct liaison with other agencies and organizations to collaborate on Program operations and lessons learned.  Insider Threat Analysts access and integrate information from network monitoring tools and other sources to decipher underlying trends or uncover anomalies and discern obscure patterns and attributes.  They compile results into reports or analytical products as required.  They prepare and present analysis, in the form of briefings and/or reports, to government leads and managers as required.  Insider Threat Analysts perform proactive inquiries and collaborate with NGA investigative entities, IC organizations, and Law Enforcement agencies/entities. 

 

Position is part-time

Responsibilities

  • Insider Threat Analysts analyze information and intelligence and develop research studies and recommendations pertaining to potential security threats to the work of our clients. These employees also provide intelligence support for contingency operations, battle staff and operational-level planning, joint and multilateral training exercises, and strategic engagement policy throughout the Areas of Operational Responsibility and Areas of Interest. Insider Threat Analysts handle requirements and collection management, as well as the analysis and evaluation of data assessment strategies.

Qualifications

Required:

 

  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Advanced degree in Mathematical Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, or other related field that emphasizes the application of complex quantitative methods to measure human behavior. 
  • 11 - 14 yrs. exp.
  • Fluency in SQL to perform complex database queries.
  • Proficient in one or more of the following data mining software platforms: R, Python, or IBM SPSS Modeler.
  • Develop training briefings/presentations; deliver briefings/presentations.
  • Review and development of models to automate the application of behavioral science principles within threat detection systems, literature review (including written product), white papers, survey development and deployment, validation studies, case studies, review of policies/triggers.                                                      
  • Ability to perform complex data mining tasks involving the application of proven data mining principals, practices, and techniques in the effort to identify anomalous events.
  • Ability to utilize complex tools and mathematical algorithms to develop complex data analytics tools.
  • Ability to implement statistical models and applying machine learning techniques and best practices. 
  • Advising stakeholders on advanced data mining and technical matters, research, and applications
