Provides security expertise, guidance, consultation, facilitation, and leadership in all security related functions pertaining to:  personnel security; industrial and physical security; computer investigation and awareness; security operations; and other security business. 

Responsibilities

  • Work independently to ensure on time closure of personnel and program security tasking in support of NGA special programs located at NCW.
  • Coordinate issues and performance status with the TO Manager.
  • Manage all tasks related to the maintenance of compartmented program accesses.
  • Conduct personnel security functions, to include:
    • Adjudicating eligibility review of nominations.
    • Conducting program indoctrinations, debriefings, and re-indoctrinations.
    • Investigate security violations, infractions, or other program security concerns.
  • Execute document management processes/procedures, classification management, proper classification marking, wrapping classified for transport, couriering of classified, and destruction of classified material.
  • Perform safe management and maintenance to include but not limited to:
    • Maintain and update safe inventory and status via electronic and paper records as required.
    • Manage safe combinations.
    • Managing drawer level access.
    • Support annual safe audits. 
    • Coordinate with Security Installations key component on safe deliveries and maintenance.
  • Manage Badging operations to include:
    • Operating and maintaining the badge machine. 
    • Coordinating badging supplies with badging POC at NCE.
    • Processing badge requests and reissuing badges prior to expiration.
  • Provide program security policy development and management expertise. 
  • Provide program direction and vision, full-knowledge and expertise of the program, briefing ability to the most senior levels of NGA’s leadership, to include answering programmatic questions on the spot for the NGA Director.
  • Deconflict program issues. 
  • Ensure Release Control Officers are in compliance with all appropriate security guidance, procedures, and policy, by providing appropriate training when tasked by Government.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance or improve security policies and procedures documents, program protection documents, concept of operations (CONOPS), security manuals, classification guides, facility security standard operating procedure (SOP), and assist in preparing security-training materials.
  • Assist in developing and implementing classification guidance and SOPs for program personnel.

Qualifications

Required:

  • TS/SCI
  • 15 yrs., includes >5 years within DoD/IC
  • Bachelors or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME) experience in a distinct functional or cross-functional security areas (e.g., personnel, physical, industrial security; computer investigations; classification management; operational security; security education, etc.) based on the specific needs of the task. 
  • Experience may be broad based, crossing multiple markets (e.g., government, industry) and may also include relevant and associated certifications and knowledge of applicable tools, methodologies, or best practices. 
  • Directs the activities of specialists or other staff as necessary related to the specified security field or security discipline.
  • Must obtain DoD Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification IAW DoD Manual # 3305.13M within 1 year of service start date.
