Provides security expertise, guidance, consultation, facilitation, and leadership in all security related functions pertaining to:  personnel security; industrial and physical security; computer investigation and awareness; security operations; and other security business. 

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a security team comprised of Government and Contractor personnel to ensure on-time closure of personnel and program security tasking.
  • Perform personnel security functions for NGA special programs, to include:
    • Adjudicating eligibility review of SAP and CAP nominations.
      • Use JPAS, Scattered Castles, and/or PeopleSoft to verify polygraph status, SSBI dates, and access status.
      • Perform first line review of request justification.
      • Submit Program Access Requests to Mission Partners.
    • Conducting program indoctrinations, debriefings, and re-indoctrinations.
      • Coordinate briefings and debriefings with Mission Partners.
      • Verify indoctrination approval.
      • Coordinate briefing and debriefing schedules with candidates.
      • Prepare briefing and debriefing statements.
      • Conduct briefings and debriefings.
  • Execute document management processes/procedures, classification management, proper classification marking, wrapping classified for transport, couriering of classified, and destruction of classified material.
  • Perform safe management and maintenance to include but not limited to:
    • Maintain and update safe inventory and status via electronic and paper records as required.
    • Manage safe combinations.
    • Managing drawer level access.
    • Support annual safe audits. 
    • Coordinate with Security Installations key component on safe deliveries and maintenance.
  • Assist Badging POC as necessary to meet tasking timelines.

Qualifications

Required:

  • TS/SCI
  • Bachelors or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 3-6 yrs., includes >2 yrs. within DoD/IC.
  • General knowledge of security practices with emphasis in personnel, physical and/or industrial security.
  • Experience may be broad based, crossing multiple markets (e.g., government, industry) and may also include relevant and associated certifications and knowledge of applicable tools, methodologies, or best practices. 
  • Ability to work independently and closely with senior specialists or task leads. 
  • Must obtain DoD Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification IAW DoD Manual # 3305.13M within 1 year of service start date.
